Can I use my own Downrod? Yes, you need a clearance of at least 10' from the floor and at least 1' from the nearest obstacle or wall. The safety precautions in the instruction manual must be met (able to use keeper pins and safety wires, etc.). You can use 3/4" (outer diameter) metal electrical conduit and drill the holes for the keeper pins and other safety features if needed. Some standard downrods will work, as long as they meet the requirements.
