Can I use my own Downrod?

Yes, you need a clearance of at least 10' from the floor and at least 1' from the nearest obstacle or wall. The safety precautions in the instruction manual must be met (able to use keeper pins and safety wires, etc.). You can use 3/4" (outer diameter) metal electrical conduit and drill the holes for the keeper pins and other safety features if needed. Some standard downrods will work, as long as they meet the requirements.

How far from the floor does this fan need to be?

There should be at least 10' from the floor to the blades and at least 12" from the nearest obstacle to the blades.

Can you use a 24" downrod on a sloped ceiling?

Yes, up to a 20 degree slope.
