Flat vacuum cleaner belts generally have a smooth inner and outer surface. When the edges begin to show wear, or when the surface shows cracking, the belt generally needs replaced. Tip: Using a genuine Hoover flat replacement vacuum cleaner belt is important. If the belt is too loose, the brushroll will turn slowly. If it is too tight, the motor will be subject to excessive wear and strain.
